Responsible event
Grenoble Ecole de Management is committed to training responsible and innovative managers by integrating social, environmental and ethical dimensions into its actions.
Becoming a Societé à Mission - equivalent to a Benefit Corporation- in 2021, GEM pursues ambitious social and environmental objectives while respecting increased transparency and regular audits.
In addition, the CSR issue is one of the pillars of the new strategic plan EAGLE 2030 of Grenoble Ecole de Management, which aims to prepare future leaders for climate and societal transitions. In this context, GEM offers immersive initiatives such as the Alpine Immersive Expeditions, integrating practical learning and applied research.
Our CSR Commitments

Towards the Ecofest certification
Thanks to rigorous internal audits and concrete actions, we are once again aiming for the Ecofest certification - a label created by the ImpAct association of Grenoble Ecole de Management since 2006. The Student Network for an Ecological and Solidarity Society is the Paris branch of this free label. This label highlights our eco-responsible efforts and our sustainable management.

Recycling, Reduction, Responsibility
Better Sorting to Optimize Recycling
While urban waste sorting only allows for the recycling of 20% to 70% of recyclable waste, the company Elise, with whom we have chosen to collaborate, recycles up to 100% of the waste collected. Additionally, Elise works with individuals who are far removed from employment, enabling us to have a social impact.

Drastic Reduction of Our Waste
The sashes and caps given to graduates are not dated, preventing surplus items from being discarded. Professors' and directors' gowns are rented. Drinks at the reception will be served in reusable eco-flutes. Stage structures and decorations are also rented and/or reusable. We have significantly reduced the use of printed materials and other disposable items.

Responsible Management of Transportation
The selected service providers are locally based. They collaborate to optimize the transportation of materials by reducing the number of kilometers traveled and maximizing truck loads. Most of the event crew and technical staff live in the Grenoble area.

An eco-friendly cocktail
We make it a point of honor to limit food waste by adopting concrete practices. In addition, we offer adapted portions to avoid unnecessary surpluses and adjust the number of dishes according to attendance confirmations. We also favor local sourcing and vegetarian options to minimize the environmental impact while offering a tasty and responsible taste experience.

Social engagement, inclusion & cooperation
Equality and accessibility are at the heart of this event, celebrating each graduate in a way that upholds the values of diversity and inclusion. Translation services will be available for guests who do not speak French, and adapted facilities, such as ramps and reserved seating, will be installed to ensure access for people with disabilities.

Like our committed service providers who showcase their professions to GEM students who work on the event, we co-construct the event’s organization with the students from the Gala student association. This gives them the opportunity to acquire foundational skills in managing complex, high-stakes events through "Immersive Learning," as outlined in our strategic plan.
